    Tripod Angles

I am thinking of making a short 4' or 5' tripod bowstand. I could trial and error it but going to ask instead and save me some time. I plan to use square tubing for the legs. What would be the cut angle on the tubing that would attach underneath the chair pedalstal to achieve a safe spread for the 3 legs? I was thinking 45 degrees but that may be too wide an angle for such a short tripod. Has anyone gone through this exercise?

    Thanks in advance.

I have always cut my leg sleeves at 15 degrees.

Here is 15 degrees on a 6 foot tall stand. Finished pic and the best pic I can find to show the angle.

I would think the longer the legs the less of an angle and the shorter the legs the greater the angle. Ours are 12' to the seat and I think we went 15 degree angles. If you are only going 4-5' then 40-45 may work (but Im thinking that may be too much)

Mine were 17 degrees so yes, 15-17 should do fine.
