Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR - East Lake

I just landed a 2nd Draw pending slection for the Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR - East Lake. It will be for the hunt period of 11-13 thru 11-15. I'm duper excited. I got to hunt Laguna Atascosa abut 5 years ago, so I assuming it will be a lot like that.

If anyone has hunted there and can shed some info for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Awesome. Congrats. My son had a youth hunt there a couple years back. He passed up a nice 140s 8pt at anoint 70 yards because he was there for a blue bull. We hunted hard. Place totally kicked our butts but would love a second chance. I’ll text you some info.

Congrats! We got a 2nd draw muzzleloader hunt out there last year. We had a great time but didn't kill anything. Its a cool place but a pretty tough hunt! Only suggestion I have is see if you can come up with an electric bike. We had regular ones but that sand will wear you out, or at least it did us!

We stayed in ramondville and its a quick easy drive to the hunt area. One other thing dont eat at the Mexican place right off the freeway. Talk about nasty, all 3 of us wore tore up the next day.

I dont know much about the area but PM if you have any questions. Also Glen off here was with me and has been another time where his son was successful. Im sure he would answer any questions.

            Good luck!!!
