    Elk taxi recommendation

Well finally put an elk on the ground that I can't pass up to have on the wall. So, Best ELK taxidermist in Texas??

Also, anyone seen a mount of an elk raking an aspen?
That's how he was when I shot him so just curious what a mount like that would look like. Cant find anything on the google.
    Thanks

I'm not aware any elk specialist in Texas, but any taxi that can do a jam up whitetail mount will so the same on an elk. Find what you believe to be the best deer taxi and go with that.

Woodbury in Ingram, TX does awesome work. Not the cheapest, but you know you’ll get a top-notch product for your money.

Conroe Taxidermy did my bull and I was completely amazed.

They do a ton of Dallas Safari type mounts.

Take a look at their website!

Another vote for Woodbury in Ingram. The second pic the most recent elk they did for me-Roosevelt. I am biased as they do all my work. Definitely not the cheapest but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for in regards to taxidermy.

Both Woodbury and Conroe Taxidermy are great outfits.

I use Matt Otten at Otten Bro’s. Taxidermy in boerne. He worked for Woodbury for years and him and his wife do a fantastic job. He has mounted probably 12-15 heads for me including my elk and entire African Safari ( his waterfowl mounts are excellent as well) and his work is simply to notch, and a lot closer to you than Woodbury’s and Conroe.

This right here. Any full time taxi has done plenty of elk unless they choose not to.

Doc, my dad would get his stuff done at Woodbury back in 70's & 80's when I worked at YO (had a reciprocal deal). I called them a few years ago and they were 2 years wait. How are they today?

They are way better now. I think the last time Derek and I talked they were about a year or less for everything. They are busy and I know for a couple years they got really bogged down doing huge trophy rooms. Like 100+ life size mounts per room.
