    AC Problems, any Goodman guys?

Have a pan that is cracked on my Goodman Unit. Not my emergency pan, but the pan that is on the unit itself. Making water go into my emergency pan, and making it condensate and drip through my ceiling.

Seeing if there was any AC guys that could help me find the Pan, as Goodman will not talk to me unless I have an account.

My buddy uses one place local, so I am trying to find one ASAP as I have a leaking through my Roof..

Please PM if you can help.

    Thanks

They probably don't sell the pan. If it is metal it is pretty old. I would consider replacing the coil.

You don’t have a drain off line to the exterior connected to the pan?

If there is a pan with a drain line on it going outside or to a pump it should not be leaking unless that pan is cracked also or the drain is stopped up.

Is the cracked pan plastic or metal? If it is plastic, then you could have another issue that caused it to crack. Does the emergency pan not have a drain line?

I had an old Goodman. My pay inside also leaked. I went to Home Depot and got some sheet metal. I then cut it to size and riveted it. Seal the corners. Then attach it to the drain. It lasted at least 5 years. I had to do it again.

When I did it, I saw repair clinic online had the exact pan for my unit. I didn't want to wait for it to be shipped.

Have someone do a pump down on system- pull evap coil and flex seal the pan. Let it sit For a couple hours to dry then have them pull a vacuum on system - put coil back in.
I’ve gotten a couple people by that way until they’re ready to do change out.
Your emergency drain pan should also have a drain line plumbed in or a float switch to prevent the water from overflowing into home.

                  How old is the unit?

If it uses R-410a and has a plastic pan, you could have a refrigerant leak that caused it unless you know how the pan got cracked.

Take another look at his post. Primary pan is leaking into his secondary. Says water is coming through ceiling. Either secondary pan is rusted out or overfilling?
It should have a drain line to drain water out of pan so it does not overfill onto his ceiling

Sorry guys, it was not updating me at all when there would be a reply. But I ended up finding a pan to overnight. Thanks for the help. But the pan in the unit is cracked cause it to leak into my emergency pan. The emergency pan does have a drain, but they did not have it low enough on the pan to drain right. So the cool water is just sitting in the emergency pan in a 100+ degree attic cause condensation and that is what is drippping through my ceiling. Unit is a 2008.
Crack is right in between the two pipes going down. Tried to seal but was only temporary.

Based on the crack I think the last AC guy did it. It is straight up and down inbetween the 2 pvc pipes. Had a slow freon leak a month or 2 ago that was fixed and it was not leaking then.

Darn, I hate to hear that. I replaced my 25 yr old unit 4 yrs ago with a Goodman unit. Already had to have the condenser fan capacitor replaced and their warranty is "parts only". I didn't read the fine print. Cost me almost $200 for a $20 part. Compressor is already making noise. In the negotiation about the capacitor I was told that a compressor could be as much as $1000 for labor and Freon. Don't think I will ever buy another Goodman AC. Nor will I ever buy from that dealer again.

                            They are Tx made
My next one will probably be American Standard

Goodman sucks! They sell the cheapest A/C on the market. I would go Trane.
