Last night shift at current plant

I will end my tenure at the Terre Haute plant and take 2 weeks vacation before I start my new position in Sinton, Tx.
We are going out for “breakfast” Monday morning when I get off for my send off.
Worked here long enough to see young men become men, see families grow and see men become old men.
I am truly going to miss the folks I have worked with over the years here.

Sinton is a good place to end up. Some very good hunting in the area and not far from the coast for fishing. You work in natural gas compression?

No sir, Steel. I don’t like to mention my company just in case I post something they don’t care for.

Lucky for me we have had mid 90’s and 80-90% humidity up here. Having it for more than a couple months will be something. While working the temps won’t be any issue, I work in a Steel Plant so they don’t exactly keep it cool in here. My days off is what I will have to get used to warmer all year temps.

I retired about 3 years ago after 36 plus years from a chemical plant and it is no doubt that I still miss those employees and their families.

                  Grew up in Terre Haute.
We moved when I was 12.
Brings back a lot of good memories, and sadly I've never been back.
Lotta of good deer there, that corn keeps em fat.
Hunting the river bottoms West of town, was what I lived for back then.
It was pretty much wide open and anybody you ask would let you hunt their land.
Is the Wilderness Shop still there by chance?
Growing up that place was better than Disney World imo.
I used to spend all day in the summer watching people shoot.
                  Anyway, welcome back to Texas!

He changed the name to Lonesome Elk but think he closed again. I work with his son here.
I live near Rockville now but grew up near Collett Park area.
I will miss deer season that’s for sure.
