Octoberfest in Germany - Anyone been?

There are 2 things on my lifetime bucket list left to do. One, is running with the bulls in Spain and the other is Octoberfest in Germany.

Some buddy's and I are planning the Octoberfest in the next 2 years. Has anyone been and can you give any advice or recommendations? I know we need to book lodging "yesterday".

Might be going in 2021, as this year with COVID, naw. My daughter and son-in-law are stationed in Germany for another couple of years.

Been numerous times. Great fun and large event. Need to make reservations at popular pavilions. Get table down on floor by band and dance floor

You'll have to try next year. It's cancelled this year, even if the EU decided to allow Americans back in.

I bet Octoberfest in Germany would be awesome. As for running with the bulls...highly overrated. I been chased and tagged by several bulls and I didn't see any fun it.

You need to book a table in one of the tents per day. You can also walk around and that's fun too. But, it's designed for everybody to set down for a while. They sell them in blocks. The tents are a little different.

Overall, it's very consumer friendly and the Germans are very welcoming. We actually has a lot of fun with them.

did one in Munich and hit a couple in smaller nearby cities way back when. good times! and get a room near the square pavilion you are at. skip the rental car.
