    Keypad safes

Wondering how long do the keypads last on Cannon safes? ThankYou

I have two. One went out right away but cannon sent a locksmith out to fix it free of charge. Both are 4-5 years old now.

That’s good to know I didn’t even know a locksmith could get into them without damaging them, Thanks.

I've got a Sentry safe with a keypad that I've had for close to 20 years with no problems

My Cannon Safe is 11 years old and they keypad still works with some caveats. The 9v battery sits verticle through the bottom of the keypad.
          1. The weight of the battery over the years has made it so they battery doesn't hold in the unit with friction anymore. I have a rubber band around the unit holding the battery in now.
          2. Sometimes the sensor that detects the door handle position doesn't work right, and I have to put pressure on the handle for it to sense that it's all the way to the right and unlock.

Besides those two issues it's worked great for these 11 years.

I’m glad to hear about the longevity and good service I was a little disappointed Once I got it inside the house that it didn’t have an actual key but this is helpful to hear.

All I've done is replace the battery once in my cannon. 8 or 10 years old.

Its opened 2 or 3 times a week

I have one of the Winchester safes from Tractor Supply. Had it 7 or 8 years and its worked fine so far. I hope a locksmith can help me get in it if I ever need. I heard it couldn't be done without ruining the safe.

Mine has worked fine for several years, only changed the battery one time.
