    Educate Me On Backpack Blowers

My little handheld blower finally gave out and I'm in the market for a blower.

I've been looking at top of the line Stihl, Husky, Makita, Echo in backpack blowers...awfully expensive

I'm shying away from anything used as most look as if they have been abused commercially.

I see some new offering, but most look like they "fell off a truck" (or maybe folks just buy in bulk).

Most of my work will be blowing leaves during the fall, blowing wet grass/dirt form edgin, sawdust and perhaps clearing trails to stands at the property.

We also have a willow that sheds bad and would love to be able to blow the falling "branches".

Do I really need the highest of the high-end for these infrequent tasks...give me your thoughts for those owning some of the following:

    - Stihl BR600, BR450, etc..
    - Husky 150BT, 360BT, 570BT
    - etc...

I have the Echo PB-580T. It's pretty great - no complaints.

I've had the Echo PB-770T for a couple of years now. I don't know how I got along without it for all these years. It's an awesome machine.

I've got a husqvarna that I got at Lowe's. Been trouble free for 6 years.

I just got the Stihl BR430, this thing is super powerful, I don’t think you would need more than what it can do. It certainly would cover all the tasks you listed. When I got it if you bought a gallon of the Stihl pre-mix fuel you got an extended warranty for free.

I have a BR700. It’s the best most useful piece of lawn equipment I have apart from my riding lawnmower. Only thing I wish it had was that you could start it wearing it. I believe the BR800 you can start while wearing.

I have bought every piece of lawn equipment I have used. It’s all stihl except for mower. They have all been very reliable except what was my fault.

Stihl...pick the one that works for your application. My experience is you cant have too much!

Stay away from the Ryobi the sell at HD. Bought it due to price point and regret it every time I use it.

I have two Echos, and they've both been great. Not a problem with either.
