    Popping cork

I’m going to start taking my grandson fishing in the bay. What is the best popping cork for soaking shrimp?

We used to make our own. Not really hard and you might already have everything you need.

Just make sure to add 18 inches of mono to it to tie the hook too if you buy pre made ones. You will double your strikes.

4horsemen corks are legit, I was using midcoast until I tried the 4horsemen.

Coastal Corks are loud and durable. Made in Bastrop Tx by some really great folks.

We are your source for quality corks!

Rig it with 30# clear mono for the leader and either a #4 or 6 treble hook or a 2/0 or 3/0 Kahle hook. You can make your leader however long you need it. I fish them anywhere from 18" long to 6' long. This is one piece of tackle I can tell you without a doubt helps me catch a ton more fish and I use them daily.

You can also hang a light jighead under them and fish Gulps, DOA shrimp or other soft plastics under them. Mirrolure Little Johns under a Coastal Cork are deadly.

We like legend popping corks. Unfortunately, they are hard to find unless you simply order online. https://www.legendpoppingcorks.com/

4 horseman or the H&H with the titanium wire.

Regardless of which cork you choose, I like to put a small split shot about 6" above the hook to keep the little shrimpy down in the water. There is nothing more rewarding as fishing with ones grandson, .........cC
