Live Texas Hill Country Axis Hunt!! 6/5-6/7

Trying to finish up some work here at the office then headed west!!

My Dad (MDB) will be coming along for the ride. I’ll be picking him up in Hallettsville this evening then we are headed to the Kerrville area.

Bought this hunt almost two years ago at an auction and we are just now getting the stars to align.

They hunted this property last weekend and ended up killing a 36” and 37-1/4” both free range [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15]. This is all private land 15k acres total access.

Pretty stoked! Will be a smoke pole hunt!!

Stopping at the lease briefly to fire a couple 6.5 CM rounds to make sure rifle is still on from deer season.

Got the old man and the cargo trailer. We will be coming back through Fredericksburg to pick up our elk we killed in Idaho.

We use Rocking U Taxidermy in FDB and Brad does an outstanding job.

I shot a nice axis buck last weekend in that area. The axis are moving quite a bit... ALL hours of the day.
