Menard County hunting

I was halfway between Mason and Menard (Hext) this passed weekend and everything looked lush and green.
Are we in the prime horn development now? I know last year with all the rain the deer looked great!

My lease is right there and I was out last weekend. Very lush and green, but my deer are still going through about 500 lbs of protein every week. That is just at my two setups.

Just got the rain in the last 10 days or so. Dumped. Our place is on the river and I stopped in on Thursday to meet a guy on Friday that was picking some stuff up. Had to cancel. I dropped my trailer at the gate and didn’t go in too far before I turned around. Just too wet/muddy. Didn’t want to tear the roads up

I just got on a place South of Menard off 2291. I’m looking forward to getting back out there and checking it out.

I'm off of 2291 as well. Our deer are looking amazing right now. We do feed protein year round but all vegetation is lush and green. Can't wait till this season.

We had a great year last year. Mild winter plus a million acorns per square foot should have helped them recover from the rut easily. If the rain keeps it up, we should have a great season again. I just set cameras out last week. I love seeing which bucks are doing what this time of year.
