    Bryan/College Station are..

Ok.. well my wife just got a job offer in in Bryan as a teacher (i also recently got hired with BFD), and we are starying the process of moving up there. What areas are cool/nice to live in? We have an 18 month old little boy. And will most likely rent the first year. Any suggestions are appreciated!

We live pretty much across Hwy 6 from brnhtown. In Shenandoah. Southside of College Station is where I would be looking. Your not next to the College or the student houses and I like College Station much more than Bryan. Especially the School district as we have 4 kids.

Live in Franklin and commute. That's what a lot do. I love living in Franklin. But finding a house to rent is almost impossible.

Mother n law passed so we’ll be fixing her home up and put it on the market later n year. The subdivision is located at Barron Road and Longmire. Nice neighborhood but taxes are high in Brazos county. Most homes in here are from the $250,s. South College Station. One mile from hospital and about one half mile from fire station on Barron.

School taxes are the only thing that is high (IMO) due to the rapid growth and the need for additional facilities and staff. Renting is going to be tough to avoid the students, but stay away from anywhere near campus. The area around Austin's Colony is nice and is on the East side of Highway 6. I'm not sure what rental properties are in that area. You might contact some guys in the BFD and get their take.
