    Bow Noise from Fixed Crawl

I just set up my bow for a 20yd fixed crawl and noticed my bow is quite a bit louder. Any suggestions on quieting it down from those that shoot a fixed crawl? I already have beaver puffs on the string. Shooting a Blueridge SR.

A fixed crawl (or string walking in general) throws the limbs out of time.

The more positive the tiller of the bow is, the louder it will be.
The deeper (distance down the string) the crawl is, the more out of time the limbs will be, and the louder things will get.

String silencers will dampen the problem some, but beaver balls suck at it. They do look good though. Yarn puffs, (wool or acrylic) will be better. Cat whiskers will also be better.

    Vibration dampeners will help.
If it's a recurve, limb slap cushions might also help.

      Thanks for the quick response.

The beaver puffs looks so good but I guess I will break down and put on some cat whiskers.

When you say vibration dampeners do you mean the limbsaver type that go on the limbs or the jack looking ones for the string?

Have some one take a picture at full draw to see your finger tension. A lot of people lose the tension of the top finger and it will make more noise. Make sure the top finger has a good grab on the string. In fact it should have the most tension of all your fingers.
