    Who carries a double action.

So maybe I'm getting old or just sentimental, but I have found myself just not liking autos anymore. Now if I know I need it I have my CZ P-07 with 4 mags carrying 64 rounds, but I just don't enjoy it anymore. I have a 4" 686 plus I really love to shoot and I just bought a 3" for my EDC gun. I figure if I can't get it done in 6 rounds the 9 more won't matter. So who else prefers a revolver?

The revolvers that I would like, I can't afford and are to big to carry. My Sig 938 with an extra mag is enough.

While I really don’t carry a double action regularly I do carry a ruger sp101 often enough to say I do carry a double action. I really only carry it when I’m swimming trunk type shorts or gym shorts. I do agree 6 shots should get me to where I need to be, but I also typically carry a single stack 1911 so I’m not losing a whole lot by carrying a da revolver.

I’ve got a 4” Ruger SP101 in regular rotation. Outside the waistband in a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake. Comfortable for all day carry, and concealable under a t-shirt.

Done it more than once (S&W 638, GP100, Redhawk 45), but my go to EDC is a P365.

IMO, revolvers are cool and fun, but give up a lot when compared to an auto for a carry gun.

Carried a SW 60 Pro for a few years. Liked it, but not enough to hang on to it. Sold it in my pursuit of more LR gear or thermal I don’t really recall. Still have a SW 65-6 that I love, but it’s not a carry gun by any means.

Berretta 92 / 96 double action autos. Bet you can’t shoot just one!

Me. SP101. Grips are modified so that when I grip and point, it is pointing where I am looking. Springs replaced and action slicked.
Revolvers are better "pointing" weapons. The only good semi auto pointers that I know of are CZ.

I carry an LCR in 357 mag from time to time.

On the farm here, it's usually some sort of revolver. I still take an auto when I'm traveling, though.

I have in the past and really like them, but they just give up too much to a semi auto for daily carry IMO. For hunting or general ranch work, I prefer revolvers and think they excel in that role handily over semi autos. That said, a 638 is my all time favorite carrying gun, just not the gun I carry anymore, if that makes sense

I'm old and arthritic. I've had trouble carrying a semiautomatic handgun for years. My EDC consists of a S&W Model 38 (left) and a S&W Model 638 (right) loaded with standard velocity .38 Special ammo and equipped with Crimson Trace laser grips. My one real regret is that this is known as a "New York Reload" - instead of a "Texas Reload"

                            Regards,

                            Dave

That poor gun sits beside its 4” 686 brother in my safe . Poor things rarely get shot. I almost feel bad about it!
