    Wood Walkway PVC Runners?

Looks like my landscape timbers and walkway have finally given up. Before I replace with timbers underneath as it was before has anyone ever used pvc pipe for the runners underneath and screwed the deck boards to the pvc? Looking for ways to keep the timbers from rotting so easily. Any suggestions appreciated.

Not sure. I think I would probably have to hang upside down to figure this one out.

My response isn't appropriate for this site sir. Hope you and the family are doing well.

On the pvc, I actually think it would work fine. You might use sch. 40, for the extra strength.

Definitely Sch 40, and coarse thread screws. I would glue the planks down as well. For the price, you might just place concrete pavers to set the timbers on. Keep the timbers out of the dirt and they will last exponentially longer. I would probably use 4 pavers per timber if it was me, 3 would likely work fine.

I have a barn built from PVC bent into a half circle. The metal is screwed to the PVC. The PVC is cemented into the ground. This works great. I'm not sure in your application if your walkway way would float out of position. May need to secure it. I would cap ends to keep things out of the PVC. Put some extra space between boards for ventilation. I think you should be good after that.

Appreciate the info. Keep it coming. If I go the pvc route I will update. Thanks
