    Watch phone thingy

I haven't worn a watch in 15-20 years, my phone is usually within reach wherever I go.
I noticed recently, while wearing waders, it is a pain to dig the phone out to check the time. I also saw some ol' boy talkin' on his watch, while waste deep in the water!
Now I'm interested in this tech. I don't care to spend hundreds of dollars on the first one I buy, but may have toto get water proof, gps, I assume all have talk/text? Is there a fit bit style that is less watch looking? Do I just go with a more traditional style with a round face?
I see DFWPI has a sharp looking one in the classifieds but that is at the top end of what I would want to spend until I know I would wear the thing.

I've seen several folks with them. I practiced social distancing before it was cool. And don't like the idea of my phone on my wrist. Especially if I'm fishing. Sorry no help. But a free bump. Lol

Yeah, my waders actually have something very similar that hangs just inside the top of them. I may end up just sticking to that. I where a tackle bag/back pack that I have to move out of the way to get to it. The last couple of trips I've just put it in a front pocket of the bag. Even then, it requires stopping and unzipping just to check the time.
As far as social distancing goes...we try to keep that in mind with our spacing.

The new Apple watches are waterproof as their rated for swimming. I use mine for anything and everything and only take it off to charge. This includes fishing and hunting plus field dressing. Mine saved me one night fighting a drunk driver who tore my acl, meniscus, and ruptured cartilage in knee. When I pulled up to the crash scene he took off running and my phone stayed in car and my handheld radio had no reception. Was able to call dispatch and ask for ambulance and back up once we finally cuffed him. Some witnesses helped me get him in custody. I’m a firm believer in a cell service watch, and that’s how I justified the cost and tech to my wife which she understands.
