    Concrete Projects

    This evening ill start ripping up our old stepping stone walkway and start working on a concrete sidewalk, 3' x 40', i will also be pouring a 4x4 pad for a compressor pad beside my shop.
    This will be my first concrete project, any tips or recommendations?

          I'm no expert, but I do know that after you get it screeded its a good idea to around tapping the sides of the forms with a hammer to settle out holidays!

            throw some wet burlap on top of it after pouring to minimize shrinkage cracks

              I would Tool a contraction joint every 6-8’. Concrete moves with the weather, and it WILL crack. The idea of a contraction/construction joint is to give the concrete a pre-designed place to crack.



              Wet burlap (sold in rolls at your local HD Supply/White Cap (plug!)) is a great idea during cure time.
