Gives people enough to make it a month...if they're smart, which they are not so it will be blown on BS crap and they'll be broke again in 3 hours.

Looks like people will also get an extra $600/wk for unemployment benefits for 4 months.

My understanding of the way it works... the $1200 is basically an advance on a refund credit one would receive when filing 2020 taxes. Essentially, if you file 2020 taxes and you were supposed to get a $1500 refund, that is decreased to $300 since you received this $1200 in advance.

Can anyone confirm? That is what I gathered

They won’t pay rent with it. They’ve already been told that they can’t be evicted for a while. Buy stock in Sony because brand new PlayStations are about to be flying off of the shelves.

I hadn’t heard that part. How would they “get it back” from the folks that don’t pay taxes? Or those who don’t loan the government money by overpaying throughout the year.

Just some questions. I don’t get any of this “free” money. I am one of the ones who has to pay for the “free” money.

LOL. Meanwhile, Congress is getting 47,000/member for working from home expenses out of this.

Freaking scumbags. Every single one of them.

If it helps the economy and stocks rebound I don't care how much money they print

The way I am looking at it...... They just seized control of my rent houses.
They have put me in a postion of having to make the payment on my business loans and insurance as well as property taxes and if the folks living in the houses decide to not pay rent I am stuck.

That I do not know. Perhaps it would just help them recoup some of the payout. I could be off base so I will try to research further.

My spouse and I qualify for the “free money”. We do pay taxes also. Just don’t make enough to be exempt due to the arbitrary income levels the government selected. If someone qualifies it doesn’t mean they don’t pay taxes..
