    D.I.Y. Draw Board

Finally finished the last piece of my in house bow shop. Built me a draw board today. I made it extra long so that I can put the appropriate tension to measure string and cable lengths as well. That is what the 1/4” bold on the end is for. All I really have left is to find a wrap of some sort to wrap around the 3/4” pipe for a little cushion on the bow grip to avoid scratches.

Tennis racquet/baseball bat grip. I built a draw board almost just like this at my last house and the wrap on the piece of pipe works like a champ.

I wrap my grips with racquet grip too...keeps my hand from slipping if it’s sweaty.

I actually found some extra paracord laying around and it worked perfectly!

Thanks! It’s going to really help turn up the tuning process a notch.

The thing I’m most excited about is being able to put 100lbs of tension on the strings and cables to get proper measurements. I feel like that should be the first step that is done when tuning a bow, more so a used one where you don’t know for sure if everything is to spec.

Nice work, I made one a few years back, need to mount it on the wall like that, thing is always in the way.

I wasn’t initially going to build it to hang on the wall. Was just going to be a table top board, but after thinking about it and how big it is and how much room I have, I changed things up to mount on the wall. So glad I did.

I made one years ago. Mine is not nearly as nice as yours though. I used rubber hose on mine to pad the grip.

                        Nicely done!

I built one a few years back, and it is a vertical one. I clamp it in my vice (space is at a premium for me)

I did add a big rubber twistie tie to help hold my bow to the pipe stud as I fiddle around and get everything hooked up before I crank the winch.
