    New laptop.....which anti-virus?

Came with a couple of free 30 trials: Norton / McCafee / Lifelock whatever.

There's gotta be something better and cheaper. What say the masses?

Got a couple other laptops in the house that I'd like to switch over as well.

Not a fan of the home use mcafee and norton offerings. Avast is pretty good and it's free.

        I 86'd Avast
Used to just it on my phone and laptop guy tired of the nonstop ads trying to get me to buy it

My office has 6 laptops. They have to be protected and work. I pay for ESET and it is bullet proof.............

ALL of our home PC's have Malwarebytes Premium. It's $39 a year and that's CHEAP compared to getting rid of a virus!! There may be some cheaper and maybe better, but the land company I retired from had ALL computers on it.

Side note: When I retired and the company would no longer provide their protection, I called the "head computer guy" and he still said this program is rated one of the best? I figure he would know as he was previously in a (government agency) and cyber technology was what he did before our Multi Billionaire owner hired him away?

All I know is I have NEVER nor any of my former colleagues ever had any viral problems with Malware. It has blocked, several times, links on the GS and sent a warning not safe to download. Just my 2 cents but it is what it is, for me.

For home we have less than 20 devices but multiple OS, we use Kaspersky. I don't have anything that would interest the Russians and it works good at protecting from threats while not adding much overhead. I work with a firm with high value intellectual property and we choose Symantec.
