    Black Hills SD

Best RV camping you have experienced in the Black Hills. Custer State Park is booked so looking for nice secluded camp.

Bear Butte outside Sturgess is one, and Curaloo lake is another. Camped at both places many times. Had no utilities back in 1977, but we survived. LOL

When are you going ? Sturgis Rally is not a family friendly time up there.
There's a real nice state park in Wyoming west of Sundance on I-90, Keyhole State Park.

Yeah you would not catch me any where near a bunch of liquored up no bath taken bikers at a rally. I will be in The Black Hills first week of June.

Why not just stay on some Forest Service ground?

You know that's not a bad idea I just have never done it and I am not sure if I could make reservations. I'd hate to drive all that way and not be able to find a spot. I am under the impression that its just first come first serve. But I could be wrong.

I’d call the district offices and they’ll be able to give you the info you need. I’d bet there’s dispersed camping available(which is way better than a campground)

Having an RV may be an issue with dispersed camping, you'll have to find an area flat enough and big enough to pull off and camp but i bet you can.
June may be mud season and/or still snowy.

Looks like no open campfires on the SD side so maybe Wyoming side if you want a campfire.
