    Instant Pot Venison Times

    The wife begged for an instant pot a couple years ago so I got one for her for Christmas on the condition that if we liked it we would throw out 2 appliances. She billed it as a miracle worker.
    First time I used it I made venison roast in it, from frozen, and to this day it may have been the best roast I've ever had. The rub is I forgot to write down the pressure and time I used, something I've noticed you have to be meticulous about with the instant pot.

    What do other instant pot guys use for times and what settings?

    We were given an Pampered Chef version. I would never pay the $250 for this but it was a gift. Sat in the cabinet for a few months and about a month ago were started using it. Amazing. We have cooked a many meals with it. We use recipes from Inst-pot sites. Going to get a 3 QT one for the deer camp.

      My Instapot doesn't have different temp settings. I'm not sure what your's has.

      For beef and pork roasts I usually set it for around an hour. Maybe a tad longer or shorter if I have a smaller or larger than normal roast. I let it depressurize slowly for 20-30 min and then release the pressure valve.

      For venison 1:15 and then a slow release of pressure for 20-30 min will give you a fall apart, fork tender venison roast.

      I don't know how long it takes for frozen roasts. I don't ever start with frozen meat.

        We do 90 minutes on manual for frozen beef roasts, doesn't seem to effect much of the texture. Don't do much for pork roast.

          I'm the same way, I forget times I cooked. I remember the 5 5 5 rule on boiled eggs, perfect everytime

            In on this. Just got one today as I love to cook and felt the need for a new gadget. I have always used a crock pot but have noticed that sometimes venison roasts are a little over cooked if I let them go all day and get home later than normal so I decided to give the instant pot a try
