    STI Changing Names

Anyone reading anything about STI changing names to Staccato 2011? What's the word.

Haven’t heard anything but feel like that would be a weird name change. Would be like Springfield changing the name to XD or S&W to M&P. Just doesn’t make since especially with a well established name. They’ve already transitioned all of their DVC models to Staccato models and eliminated a lot of previous models.

Correct, but there seems to be a lot of chatter about it.

That seems crazy to me. STI has worked hard and I believe it has established its brand.

              In for the further information

I don’t see how that would benefit them. At all.

Lots of variables. Patents, warranties, etc. I'm sure Chris will let us know once he is able too.

You have to adapt and be ok with change in order to survive. A new look and name may come in the future. Staccato will offer a more quality product at its price point than anything else on the market. Staccato will still offer a lifetime warranty and is 100% built and produced in the USA out of hand fit CNC parts. STI is growing and things need to change to support that growth. The competition market is a small part of the gun world. Staccato will still offer a few competition based pistols for that market. Keep an eye out for more good things to come! You won’t be disappointed!

Not only should it help future sales with this new name recognition, Staccato will always be tied to STI in the gun world with current / former owners. The only time a name change hurts is when quality goes out the door & I know enough about the operation that will not happen, plus it gives their new designs more recognition & chatter to say this is the ole STI. Most folks who know early STI only think of a double stack JMB style gun. It's a good move & looking forward to the new designs.
