Boy Scouts killed by liberals, TRAIL LIFE

Came across this organization called Trail Life. Sounds like a great program for kids. Mine little one is still too young but I think this maybe a great thing in the next few years.

Sounds like this organization needs to keep getting recognition.

Trail Life USA is a Christ-centered, boy-focused mentoring program that engages boys in service & outdoor adventure to develop godly & courageous leaders.

I give it a year before some idiot files a discrimination suit because their masculine little girl wants to join

Similar organization that offers a good program, seems like it started up 5-6 years ago

The generic public recognizes the Eagle Scout “degree” but few know TL’s terminal “degree”

We had several families leave our troop & try TL, most ended up coming back to the troop

Either that or because they want to start their own atheist troop. Somehow, some way, someone will get butthurt though.

I never met a boy scout who knew more than a kid who grew up hunting a camping.

Maybe this new organization will be a good thing.

Getting harder and harder to find positive avenues for the kiddos. My Grandson needs it big time. Scouts fell apart for several reasons not due to the troop or any person but sadly just was not working.
I was a scout when we learned to fish and even hunt and be tough in the woods while learning to do the right things in life. I was sad when I found fishing and hunting was no longer allowed in current activity. Many good folks still in Scouting no matter what "not so good" has occurred. I wish I would have done better to support and maybe positive impact vs. pulling out? Oh well. And sorry, it was BOY Scouts! Girls need the same but why are we combining? I know the "today's correct" answer but there is a better way!

And interesting archery is still active in Boy Scouts but pending your group, hunting or taking game is not in any discussions and surely would ruffle feathers if it came up. I think the rule book says NO! When I was a kid about a million years ago, we did not actually Hunt, but it was ok to discuss and learn survival and history of being outdoors. To clarify yesterday intent to today. I still wish my grand was camping vs playing games on His Tablet. Sorry. One last rant

That may be true but the majority of American families neither hunt or camp. Millions of boys would have not had the opportunity develop a love for the outdoors and outdoor skills other than through Scouting. I grew up hunting, fishing and camping with my family but most of the boys in my scout troop had no exposure to any of that at home. How else would a city kid have the opportunity to backpack for a week in the mountains of New Mexico or canoe the Canadian boundary waters? I don’t like the direction the national organization has gone of late but they have done a lot of good for over 100 years

My son is a member. It's a good organization, that teaches Christian ideals. Mostly Catholic where we are, but non-denominational on the whole that I'm aware.

There's also American Heritage Girls for the young ladies. Not the same umbrella organization but same concept.
