The first time I sat with my Dad on Friday morning in blind #8 which is just a ground blind we saw a huge 6 point and two doe at daybreak. They saw us moving around. About an hour later a nice 9 point with a hurt leg (saw the same hurt leg buck last year), an 8 point, a spike, and a doe walked through. They didn't hang around long enough for a shot. Dad needs time to get steady etc...
This morning we sat in blind 5. The second the feeder went off a hog came running across the field to it. After an eternity of aiming Dad finally got a shot off. Sucker ran so fast zip sagging across that field he was leaving a dust trail. I knew he was hit but we kept hunting. About 15 minutes later I see another big 6 walking by. Didn't stop but was about 80 yards out. 10 minutes after that I see 3 big mature doe walking towards the feeder. They simply veered off into the woods when they were about 20 yards from the feeder. Then right after a HUGE 6 (maybe was an 8) walked the same path as the doe.
We gave up early and when we drove to look for blood it was all over the place. Dad shot the heart right out of the hog. Est weight was around 125 stinky boar. He made it well over 100 yards and I could see blood 20-30 yards in front of me as I followed the blood trail the entire way.
Then Jason took him to Blind 3 at 9:30am and a 10 pointer sat in front of them eating corn the whole time. Wasn't old enough to shoot though. But at least they are FINALLY starting to come to corn!
