    TIG welding question and referral

A while back I came across the pot built from 12" 316 stainless steel pipe, 3/16" thick. The pot was too cool to pass up. Dang thing weights about 20# empty and is a great fire pit pot. I decided to build a few accessories for the pot and came up with this deck plate material to make a lid.

I'd like to install a drip ring around the bottom of the lid. Is there any reason a good TIG welder couldn't weld a 1/16" ring to this 3/16" plate or should I look for thicker bar stock to turn into the ring?

I can weld MIG and stick weld but don't have a TIG machine and have never had access or used one. Anyone know of someone in the Cent/NW?N Houston area who could do this? I'm not asking for free work. I know when I've looked before lots of shops don't want to mess with small stuff. I'm Guessing 19-38" of weld depending whether there is a gap weld or not.

    Thanks, Pete

Thanks for the responses. Anyone know of a small shop in the areas I mentioned? Porter is 40 miles of traffic away.
