We’re getting loaded up to head South. I’m going to bail H out of school around 10:00 to hit the road. This will be Hagen’s second hunt as the shooter and he’s fired up. He was drawn for the youth hunt at Mason Mountain WMA where he was lucky enough to get his first notch in the old belt loop as a deer hunter.
It’s on to bigger bucks this weekend. Heck, I was going to let him try to put a tag on a pretty neat 12 point they had running around but that deer met his maker. Hopefully we’ll get a good one to slip up long enough for H to punch a hole in him with his 300 blackout. If not, should still be a good time as we have some good folks joining us.
John “floorman” and his boy Cory will be joining us. I’ve known John for a long time and I’m looking forward to sharing a camp fire with this crew! Cory is a pretty accomplished hunter with numerous critters on his resume! I believe he may very well be looking for his first bow kill on this hunt.
