    New Jeep ?

Buying a new Jeep JL unlimited, anyone have any experience with the 4 cyl 2.0 turbocharged engine? Was thinking I'd get another 3.6 but am intrigued by the torque and alleged mpg's on the 4 cylinder.

I would avoid it. There’s talk in the Jeep groups that FCA is already killing the 2.0. I am not sure why other than it hasn’t sold. But, I think there are other issues as well.

My wife got one as a loaner from the local dealership. It had 31” tires was getting 22-25mpg and it would pin your head back pretty good and burn the tires a little. I was super impressed. We only put about 150 miles on it so my experience is limited. The 53k sticker price was a little shocking.

Thanks I’m reading some of the Jeep forums too, some seem to love them and others not so much. Where did you hear they’re eliminating it?

They are definitely snappier than the 3.6.

I just bought a new JL unlimited rubicon and went with the 3.6 because of the negatives I read on the forums for the 2.0 and I am happy I did. The 3.6 has plenty of power to spin the 37s on mine.

It is their hybrid. Electric and 2.0 4cyl. I have heard that it is going away after only 2 years. If I didn’t buy the 3.6, I would buy the diesel before the hybrid

Where are y'all seeing that the 2.0 is going away?

Unfortunately my instant gratification syndrome won't allow me to wait for the diesel

I saw the discussion on the wrangler forum and googled it. Apparently it is just the hybrid side that is going away for the 2.0 except in the Sahara and they are adding the hybrid etorque system to the 3.6 at some point. It just seems like to many changes all of a sudden.

I had a 14 with the 3.6, no complaints with it. I think I test drove a 3.6 with the etorque the other day, seemed the sam as my old one.

Ended up buying the 2.0. I don't usually keep them more than 3 or 4 years and I couldn't find one in the color/options we wanted w/ the 3.6. Time will tell but it is definitely more lively than the 3.6 and averaged almost 23mpg on the first tank.
