    Another Dimmit county buck

Not the caliber of Encinal's buck but once I saw his thread, I gave this one another look. Those tines start adding up. Any guesses on score? Don't think any of the pictures give a clue as to age and we have no history that I know of with him but pretty certain he isn't old. That being said, we had three different bucks with inline points last year. We took the only one that was old enough and he scored 163".

Nice looking buck. As you state not enough of him to properly age however based on his face I agree not old enough to whack He needs another year or two and then lets check him out. i'd be happy to come film

Thanks for responding. He kinda got buried under all the other threads. He has twelve tines (he’s an 8x6) to score and none of them are 9” right now but a bunch of them are 6-7”. When I put a pencil to him I was shocked at what I came up with. Of course I have no idea what his mass measurements might be in that left side. Not sure if that cluster of four tines have a common base or not. I’d imagine they do.

I think he is 4. But I stink at this stuff. Mid 60s ish. Needs 2-3 more years and he'll knock your socks off.

Yea he won’t be hunted this year. No idea how old but certainly not 6 which is our minimum. He’s just dang intriguing in that he has so many dang points. Honestly not that impressive when you first look at him.

It doesn't look like it but.
The deer on the left was shot at our lease in North Texas and scored 167. 5x6
The deer on the right was shot in South Texas and scored 184. 8x5

That's what all the extra tines will do for you. You can't see two of them very good. He had busted one off that would have pushed him close to 190.

Hopefully you get a bunch of rain and keep the pasture in good shape so he can continue to grow. I passed a deer last year that I thought was 4.5 and max 5.5.
Based on antler size, I could have shot him, but I rolled the dice
He survived and blew up. They are fun to watch

Does he have any distinguishing characteristics? We went back through pictures and identified our deer by a cut in his ear

As you can tell I had the dang camera angle to high to get great pictures. We actually found this old feed pen on google earth and decided to put a cotton seed feeder there in February. First two months-one old ugly buck. Didn’t check cameras again till our last run and had four great bucks that we had never seen before. Ironically the feed pen is about 100 yards from our most traveled intersection.
