    Oklahoma Activity

For those who hunt north of the river, what has feeder activity been like in the past few weeks? I put up a feeder and blind a couple weeks back on a new place I got on in Bryan county. I checked the camera yesterday, and only got a few pictures of the same doe. I had a camera on a little trail leading up to one of the ponds, and had got several pictures of pigs, different does, and some small bucks. I'm a little concerned at this point to why they aren't coming into my feeder. The place has tons of tracks all over it. Appreciate any feedback.

Wait till the acorns fall in late October and hunt the trails. Poor a pile of corn here and there and you’d have better luck getting a big one on camera than the feeders! I never had a lot of luck on feeders in Oklahoma. I still love hunting up there!

I’ve been in the woods for the past 3 days. Im in Carter county just next door to you. The acorn crop this year is one of the biggest I’ve ever seen in my life. In my red oak bottom, the are already “ripe” and falling. The ground is covered with them. Red oak, white oak, post oak, and black jack are loaded up and many already on the ground. They have food at their feet pretty much anywhere they walk. This is why I created a new hunting spot this week away from my normal feeders/long range setup. I moved deep into a red oak bottom on my place. I haven’t checked the cameras yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Will do. Thanks for the feedback. The setup is new to this property, so two weeks is probably not enough time to expect to start seeing lots of traffic anyways.

I’m in Bryan county also. Have just In the past week had a few deer start coming to the feeders. Until now nothing but pigs. Don’t worry too much. They will come.

I've been told by a family friend who has hunted up there a few years that the chances of shooting a mature buck is much better late season. Has this been your experience as well?

Any update around the area? I haven't seen much at all. Acorns are tearing me up.

I will be checking my cams this weekend at my place to the east of you in Choctaw. Lately, I haven't had much hitting the feeders, but does and their yearlings. A lot of them seem to feed outside away from the feeder on the corn that was slung a ways away from the feeder.

I just checked it again this weekend and absolutely nothing besides coons. Gonna try buck ration thrown on the ground.

I'm in Pittsburgh Co and seeing alot of deer at feeder and hand piles.

We too are absolutely covered in acorns and they are dropping. Sure I will see less feeder activity soon.

I did see a nice 8 pushing a does around 3 weeks ago!

Patience. As said, too many acorns on the ground right now. I have a pile of corn under my feeder, deer won't come out of the woods, but they are there. Acorns will play out soon enough.

We're a few miles east of Winstar Casino and covered up in acorns. 90% of our 300 acre place is oaks I have a couple of does coming every day, but that's it. Nothing else. Past history on our place says it'll pick up substantially in mid November.

Feeders are almost pointless right now.... deer are hammering the acorns and clover plots. My son was covered up with deer Sunday night on a clover plot, including 3 shooter bucks... just didn't get a good shot opportunity. I don't even run any feeders, but a couple neighbors who do said they're ignoring them right now.

We have no oaks and still not hardly any bucks at feeders a lot of does and yearlings some hogs but not hardly any bucks. This is very unusual for us .
