    TPWD website draw hunts

    Has anyone had trouble with Texas Parks Wildlife website concerning draw hunts?
    I have not entered for any draw hunts in a few years. Decided to try this year for some gun hunts not being able to bow hunt this year. Got on the site and was checking my loyality points of which it showed that I had none. So I thought that TPWD had canceled my points due to non activity in the drawings. Tried to apply and was told that I had to create a NEW account because I could not be found even with my customer number and SS number included. SO I created a new account entered my info payed for it got confirmation application numbers and all . Checked today to see if they drew today the day after deadline ( I did not realize it was a holiday and they might not draw). Well now I have two accounts one with my old loyality points and shows that I have not entered for hunts this years hunts. The other shows loyality points for what I have entered this year and my choices for this years hunts. The only difference iss that I used my full middle name in one and my inital in another with the same customer number. What do I do or who do I complain to about this. Will I not get my old points for this years draw or start over? Wonder if they will disqualify me from this years hunt due to a mess up. I am not a young and savy person with knowlege of websites and such. Can some one give some directions? THANKS

      Give them a call and talk to them about it. I know someone else that had the same problem. And they got it resolved.

        I had this same problem with my partners account this year, when I tried to apply for draw hunts for all of us. It showed that he had no points in any category. I knew that was incorrect, as I have all the records for every year when I apply us. Every column had a zero in it.

        I finally checked with the main office in Austin to see what was the problem. It turns out that he got a new NR fishing license this spring, and rather than looking up his old account, the clerk just opened a new account for him. We were able to determine which customer number was the original correct one, and which was the new one that the Public Drawn Hunts computer defaults to, when you use the social security number.. I applied formal the hunts with the old customer number with the points, and it worked.

        When I asked her to cancel the new account, she said they couldn't do that. Not only was the license associated with it still valid, she said only the IT Dept. could change an account. She said wait until September, then call the main office and speak to IT. They MAY be able to get rid of the incorrect one! I've been waiting for this week to call.

          Wow how many have duplicate accounts out there & are applying twice every year. System definitely has bugs, it's accidentally drawn everyone not once but two hunts that I know of and there was also a fort boggy hunt where they overdrew applicants, I have little faith it's fair or accurate.

            When you enter two criteria, the system sometimes doesn't find you. Try entering one, SSN, dl or cust num and see if it finds you. It shouldn't allow a new entry with a duplicate key. That's poor development.

              Last name, DOB, and SS will bring up the most current of accounts. Customer number is specific, and you can look for the correct one.

              If you have points under two acts, I don’t know how hard it would be to fix.
