Define “near”.... I know of some spots that have produced in the past if you’re willing to travel and let me bring my dog! [emoji1360]

Bud, you're asking for something that a lot of folks won't share with their best friend or spouse. This probably goes beyond "I could tell ya but then I would have to kill you"

Well get out there and work for them!! Need to get the scouting done before season gets here, so you dont ruin other folks hunting.

          Congratulations on the new rig!!

by near I mean within 2 1/2 hours or so, also I am not looking for an exact spot just one of the public places that has produced a few in recent years

Lots of places to look on the interwebs to find places that ALLOW public duck hunting - hint...try the TPWD website. Find public access and then go scout. Best of luck to you and congrats on your new rig.

Miles upon miles of Coastal marsh In Texas. It's almost all public and will produce. You have to find the spot so put some hours on your new rig in the next month and find a few setups.

You won't find a more tight lipped bunch than public land duck hunters. Just get out there and go exploring, that's how we found all our "secret holes"

Like everyone stated, 99% of guys won’t say a word. Just get online and start doing research and then take the boat out and find the birds. How I had to get started. Most big lakes have spots you can hunt on.

Used to stack the mallets on public. Sandy, bottoms and drive right up to the spot.

                          It was just peachy.....

Look at the upper end of Lake Livingston north of 190 toward Trinity.

Anahuac refuge is usually good. Just have to research how you do it and get permits etc.

When someone mentioned getting in line for a spot at midnight I signed off, never saw a duck that needed killing that bad.....but you may know some
