    My deer are gone.....

So I haven’t seen a single WT or exotics on my cams for over two weeks now. I still have tons of hogs coming in at night but nothing else. What I have noticed is tons of crows hanging around the feeder from sun up til about 10am. They show up again about an hour or two before sunset. Are these pesky crows keeping the deer away from the feeder and if so, what are some remedies to keep them away? Thanks

Out of curiosity, did you let your feeders go dry? Unfortunately ours ran empty toward the end of June and ever since activity has been slow at best despite having been full almost a month.

buy a bag of sweet feed/golden deer nuggets/protein put it in a pile at your feeder they'll find it

Rock springs area has lots of small tracts and is heavily hunted. May have found better vittles elsewhere

I think you’ve got Grackels and they are some pesky suckers. Get you a fake owl or snakes and put near your feeder.

Could it be the crows are eating all the corn before the deer have a chance? Maybe with all the rain the deer are eating more natural feeds.

I check my feeders on a weekly basis and they never run dry. I’ve been feeding apple scented corn for about a month now. WT just vanished. Might have to up my feed game with some cottonseed and alfalfa. I did see a young turkey for the first time. It appeared it was chasing the crows away from the feeder lol.

I hunted in Rockspring 2 years ago. From January to July we had a ton of Axis and then they disappeared until the following January. We never really had a bunch of Whitetail, but once season started, I never saw one while hunting

I'm on 40 ac low fence and I have plenty. nothing huge as far as wt go but avg hill country bucks. and as many axis as pigs, but they like to roam so I may not see them for weeks at a time and then others they wont let the wt near the feeders.
                      water is key.
and I'm out there working on something several time a month so they are used to the activity.

Id say it’s too late to run cotton seed, but I don’t have much experience with it. I’d do more hand corn if possible on fence lines and put up some fake owls around feeders. If you have the money and time maybe throw up some fencing around a few feeders to give the deer space from hogs while they feed. A lot of the places I’ve hunted in your area have difficult access to food for deer on smaller tracts of land. Having clear cut paths for deer to come in and eat will help. If you don’t have any good water holes maybe bury some of those plastic bins and fill them up with water not far from the feeders.

                          Pen your feeders in.

I’d bet those are ravens you’re seeing and not crows. Haven’t ever seen them scare any animals from feeders.

"Ravens are as big as Red-tailed Hawks, and crows are about the size of pigeons. The raven is all black, has a 3.5-4 ft wingspan and is around 24-27 inches from head to tail. The crow is also black, has a 2.5 ft wingspan and is about 17 inches long."

Crows are what come into my feeder pens sometimes in large groups and are loud sunny beaches. Don't see any deer when they flock in...
