Carnival Cruise Cancelled our Vacation

So we were booked to head out July for 7day cruise and apparently the Ship thruster is out on 1 engine. Carnival Vista. So now wife wants to try Norwegian Cruise line.
Anyone used them and if so how did you like their ship? Anyone have a good way to book and save money. We were driving to Galveston, now it looks like we are flying to Miami, FL. $$$ added to trip budget now. We are set on the specific week we chose due to kids school, work and other obligations.
Bummed, but trying to salvage the vaca.

You checked Royal Caribbean? They sail out of Galveston. We had a blast on our last trip with them.

We leave on July 4th, just for a 4 day cruise though, bringing the grandkids for the first time, its Carnival though. We have been on a bunch of cruises but its always been with Carnival. We are going on another one in September out of Fort Lauderdale.

Check what other ships are leaving out of Galveston, and save the airfare...I think most cruise line are good. Like said above check with Royal Caribbean

Saw this last night. Hope they get the issues worked out on the Vista. We are suppose to go in October. They said they cancelled the next 4 cruises on the Vista.

We have used Norwegian Cruise line and had a blast. I would choose them over Carnival any day.

I have been on two cruises, one with Carnival and the other with RC... RC blew Carnival out of the water. My father-in-law is a frequent cruiser say Norwegian is on par with RC (he just prefers RC) but Celebrity is the number one (no kids) and he will not get on Carnival again. Hope this helps... also look what is going out of New Orleans if you don't want to fly to Miami...

We have been on two cruises...Norwegian and Carnival. Norwegian was great. I couldn't wait for the Carnival cruise to be over.

My family just got back from a RC cruise out of Galveston. 5 days. Ports at Costa Maya and Cozumel. We really liked it. Food was awesome, I ate WAY to much! We did the water park and zip lines in Costa Maya. In Cozumel we did the snorkeling and swimming in a sinota. They were really good excursions. The shows at night were really good.

Norwegian is by far our favorite cruise line to use. We sailed on the Norwegian Jewel and loved it. I believe the closest port since the left here is in New Orleans now.

Probably find a cheaper one out of Galveston on last minute deals.

My parents spend about 200 nights at sea with RC and love them. They are on their final leg of a 90 day Med cruise now.
