What is it doing? Maybe we can help troubleshoot or at least make the mechanic trip cheaper.
From my experience, dealer shops will not touch them after a few years. It's very difficult to find a reliable side mechanic too. The list of problems is endless including fuel lines, filters, carbs, intakes, pumps, impellers, thrust boots, exhaust and bailers with many requiring it to actually be on the water to test. Most side mechanics do not have the ability to tank test and taking it to the water drives up cost. The good is that some parts are relatively cheap and easy to replace and you can knock out the low hanging fruit first.
We ended up just doing it all ourselves after wasting money on a bad mechanic.

Bad mechanic was over by collin park near lake lavon. Its been a while.
Do the rpms run high and no thrust or does the engine rpms stay low?
Few common issues for fuel starved symptoms:
Back a while ago they were built with grey gas lines that are known to break down terribly inside. If you have these the first thing you need to do is replace them all with auto fuel hose. Its cheap and easy.
Ethanol also causes tons of problems with fuel lines and the carb. Drain tank, clean carb, clean everything you can. We had a carb problem causing sluggish mid to upper end. We completely took it apart and cleaned every possible hole and it ran great. It's fairly easy to do, remove air box, a few screws and fuel lines.
Petcock is also known to have problems, blow this out.
Wear ring would be low end issues.
Impeller damage could be upper end but those things usually can be felt as spinning out, high rpms and missing thrust.
