My buddy and I are looking at a 600 acre parcel just west of BrookeSmith. Our landowner just inherited it and we’re thinking about leasing it. Anybody hunt the area? Our owner says the place is loaded with deer with some with 150 class bucks. I’m just looking for info as to the quality of deer in the area. If we lease it all spots are already taken.

Some good deer in that area but a lot of pressure also. You'll be close to the Colorado River, so the ground is fertile and can grow some good sized bucks. You'll have hogs also. I wouldn't rule out a 150's but they won't be numerous. Most of your mature bucks will top in the 120-130's. Really good ones will be 140-150 but not common.

Thanks for the info. The place we are on in Oklahoma has 150-160 potential. We have taken a couple mid to upper 140s. My land owners swears the place (Brookesmith) has had 160s harvested. Also has good turkey hunting and I miss hunting the Hill Country. Decisions decisions....

This place is a little more than 3 miles southwest of Brookesmith

Thank you

[emoji1303] that’s is the TBH consensus. Thanks to all for the replies. Now I have a decision to make
