    Turkey Taxi?????

Got a smoke phase gobbler I plan on trying to get and although he will potentially be my 51st bird, I've never gotten one mounted. I think he would warrant a good strutting mount, or I have an idea for a hanging dead mount. Who do you suggest?? Not paying Birdman in Colorado $1,200 and Avian Arts says he's not accepting them now. GO..................

    What about flying?

My brother had a turkey he killed last spring by Circle S in Helotes which ain’t far from kerrville. Came out really good we use them for all our mounts. Taxidermist used a fake head which I prefer because I think they look much better and last much longer but that’s just preference.

Check out Lowell Shapley. He's pretty dang good with birds. He's working on my son's mallard right now.

              whats your budget?
Birds/Turkey's are pretty tough to do right.
I always say if your going to mount it, pay what ever it will take to have it done by the best. Nothing worse than a poor quality mount. If you want the memory without shelling out the money i always like a high quality photo blown up and framed.

And I paid 1200, I didn’t want to but that is probably the going rate for good taxidermist to do a turkey. I know John freeze dries the actual head and doesn’t use a fake one.

I'm a fan of the dead mount. Turkey's look good like that on a fence post.
