    Blaser rifles?

anyone have experience with Blaser rifles,, good, bad or otherwise? And i already know they are not cheap,,, but they are mighty fine works of art !

Very nice rifles. Repeatable when changing scope mounts, barrels, etc. Fast bolt throw with the straight pull. Parts are very expensive. Nothing about them is cheap. But they are well finished, nice, accurate rifles.

I've heard good things about them. I don't own one but I shoot one of their F3 shotguns. One good thing is that if you have issues, Blaser USA is right down the road in San Antonio.

Dont own one, but have shot a handful of them and they are smooth and accurate. A very nice gun. One is on my Christmas list again this year.

I have lots of experience with then. Been shooting them for 20 or so years. They are very accurate for factory built rifles. Great guns for travel as they can be broken down into a compact case. I've got 20 or so different barrels and can shoot everything from .223 to .416 Remington with the same gun.

Changing barrels and calibers are very simple. Two allen screws hold the barrel on. Change the magazine and bolt head if necessary and you are ready to go! Trigger pull is great right out of the box.

I really like the safety aspect. I can safely carry a loaded round in the chamber with the bolt uncocked. There is no spring pressure against the firing pin until you thumb cock it. Love that straight pull bolt as it is fast for repeat shots.

          The cons:

Not cheap. But most good things aren't.

          Nothing to tinker with.

If you like to tinker with sorry shooting rifles Blasers are not for you. No glass bedding, no trigger job, no nothing. Just buy gun and go shoot tiny groups.

          A straight pull bolt.

My God! I'm so used to a regular bolt action I won't remember to pull straight back. Only a problem if your IQ is 50 or below.

Man, I struggle at times with the straight pull. Now I know why. Thanks.

I am considering getting one,, more than likely my last rifle I think it would be a awesome one to pass down to one of my grand kids,,,, hardest choice is caliber! Price alone will make the model decision easier!

                  Nice guns for sure.
Maybe an old issue by now but I believe there was a safety issue in the past where the bolt was popping out backwards when the gun was shot and severely injured the shooter

I'm looking at the Merkel RX Helix. They are not as nice to look at but I think they are just as smooth as the Blaser, and less expensive.
