I pull around 27 1/2”, but was wandering what arrows length and spine and head weight I should be using. String is prolly the stock custom string on it. It is the older green/dark wood one piece. Thanks

Spine question for 45# bear grizzly

Lot of ways to go, lot of factors to consider. Best answer, generally speaking, that I would offer is try a 400 spine carbon with 125 grains on the front. Start cutting from the rear in 1/8" increments until it flies right.
Understand that you can drastically change your approach within this framework: you could put a heavier head on or use an insert in the front. Also, know that I built really heavy arrows (680 grains, with 28 % FOC, cut at about 31-1/2"), but found that I needed to go up to a 70-lb bow to get them to a good speed.

Spine question for 45# bear grizzly
If your draw length is 27.5”, then your actual draw weight will be about 43# or so. If you went with a .400 like suggested above, you would have to leave it full length, and have 300+gr up front to make it tune correctly. .400 spine is likely too stiff to be practical for a 43# bow, esp an older bow that is likely not cut to center.
You could go with a .500 and somewhere around 200-250gr up front (insert and point weight combined). Or you could go with a .600 and have less weight in the front.
Like stated above, whichever shaft you go with, start with full length, and play with front end weight and length in small increments till you get it right.
