    Fifth Wheel to gooseneck

I’m interested in getting rid of my b&w 5th wheel hitch. I want my Rv to be towed by a gooseneck. What kind of adapter or conversion have y’all used? I know I’ve been told to be careful because some can cause damage to the frame.

    TIA

Andersen makes a quality kit. Bolt on. Used it to convert a Work and Play Toy Hauler.

A perfect 5th wheel hitch adapter for ranchers. Pull a 5th wheel without losing your truck bed to a bulky hitch. Works with any standard gooseneck hitch.

But having reread your post, I may be making a suggestion on the wrngnend of what you are looking to convert.

Either way, good luck in your conversion.

The only gooseneck connection that I know of that won’t void your frame warranty is the Reese Goose Box. It replaces the entire pin box.

I converted mine to gooseneck years ago. Happy with it.

I've use this hitch to pull a 16K lb. toy hauler. Works great and is easy to put in and take out.

Put a Hide-A-Ball in it and install this on your camper. Never understood having to loose all your bed space to pull an RV!

Those are the ones that will void your frame warranty. It puts extra stress on the frame due to extra leverage. If you have a frame issue it will be in the buyer because non of the frame manufacturers will warranty the frame if you are using one of those.

The only gooseneck connection that will keep your frame warranty intact is the goose box.

I hear ya.....Its a bolt on. Keep the original hitch and swap it out if you ever have issues and need warranty work......which you wont

                            Maybe, maybe not.

How does it bolt on? A pin box is through bolted with 8-12 5/8-3/4” grade8 bolts. How will something like this hold up in a panic maneuver or an accident? I can’t see it being near as strong as the intended design.

Depends on how much risk you are willing to take I suppose.

                              YMMV!

I'm a metal tradesman.....I ain't skeered of nothing metal! I built one several years ago out of an old gooseneck tube. Worked like a champ.

                              Just trowing options out there.
