I recently bought and older hobart buffalo chopper/grinder. Someone painted it at some point and did a poor job. That, coupled with its age, led me to to decide to tear the thing down entirely and refurbish it. It is in great shape over all and the internal gears are pristine. But gear oil has leaked into places it should not be, so I assume a seal or two will need to be replaced. The oil that is in it currently is quite thick. I am not sure if that is a product of its age or not. Can someone recommend a suitable oil the replace it with when I am done? This oil does not come into contact with the food at any time. It is in the crank case.

I got a buddy to pick me up a gallon of oil for my Hobart at a commercial restaurant supplier in Dallas when he was there. Its 90 weight food grade oil. It was $50.00 a gallon. Its in a plain unmarked jug. Just marked as 90 weight food grade oil. Now I need to take the time to change it out.
