So this Aussie mix pound rescue we've had for over 8 years has always been an indoor dog.
Last night at bedtime she was sitting at the backdoor like she needed to go out and of course we obliged. She instead curled up in a chair on the back porch. I tried to get her to come in and she wouldn't so I took her by the collar and made her.
We tried to go to sleep but she was pacing and acting frantic to go out again so my wife is sure she must really have to go this time... Nope, right back up in her chair.
Repeat previous cycle AT LEAST 6 MORE TIMES!
At 1:00 am my wife finally concedes and lets her sleep outside.

    Well trained.

This is comical to me. I have a 10 month old GR. I'm doing my best to make her my first full time inside dog. Most days, she acts like she is just as happy to stay outside!

The problem is the neighbor's dogs will sometimes set her off barking and we never let that go on very long.
