Vanilla thread

Who is actually using it? Had deer bust me this weekend so I figured I’d give it a shot. Sprayed the corn, my boots, my pop-up and anything I touched. May scare everything out of the county but these big deer in east Texas are too in tune with their surroundings... next adventure is ever calm. Any other tips to it? I’ll keep this thread updated when I get back next week to check cameras!

I dont use anything else
Had plenty of shot opportunities everytime I hunt.
Had a 130 10 point 20 feet from me last night while I was hunting on the ground.
Spray yourself, trees around you and corn.
I use it in east tx as well and it has not scared anything away and I only hunt out there a couple days a year so they are not used to it.

Ive used it. Works as good cover scent. Never seemed to scare anything

I spray my boots, clothes, backpack, and hat. Never sprayed Corn. Be using Mexico vanilla for about 35 years and I swear by it.

I use Evercalm and hunt near Arbor just outside of Crockett. I am a firm believer in Evercalm. May try the vanilla trick at some point...

What’s the ratio of water to vanilla? Or do you use straight vanilla vanilla extract?

I used a spray bottle and put a little pure vanilla extra then added the imitation vanilla extract. We will see

I spray my clothes down at camp....really good almost saturate them
Spray my hat, boots as well. I repeat every hour or so while in the stand, depending hot hot I am. Spray your blind down everytime you go and a little ever your or so. I sit on the ground or in ladder stands so i spray the branches around my as well.
Typically I use 16oz of imitation vanilla and 16 oz water in a 32 oz spray bottle.
I did use pure vanilla in the past but that stuff got expensive so now dollar store stuff is cheap and i have not noticed a difference in the results.

The only thing I noticed with the imitation is it isn’t near as strong. Not a bad price when it cost 1/14 as much as pure vanilla. I don’t think you can mix it too strong, the stronger the better it seems. Hopefully no adverse affects on the corn itself. I will check cameras next week and see what it does!

Ever Calm is some good stuff. I put vanilla in a scrape dripper. A lot of bucks check it out.
