    Bow sling recommendation??

I’ve decided to try a bow sling on my elk hunt this year instead of carrying my bow by hand. Anyone have a recommendation on which to use and why?

    Thank you

    Bow sling recommendation??

I’ve used the primos one for years, has held up fairly well. It’s a little lightweight though, not sure how it would hold up to hardcore use. But they work great! Really makes a difference

I have the NAP quick detach bow sling and I like it better than the primos. I never take the straps off my limbs, just detach the strap.

Primos Mossy Oak Break-Up® Bow Sling. Easy to use/attach, sturdy, low cost. It works great for me.

Not sure about a long distance hike hunt but I saw on a show the other day a hunter using a rifle sling attached at the riser on each end and slung that way. I plan to give it a try

Michael did a review of this sling not too long ago:

This is the one I currently use or have as it works better on my Obsession than the Primos sling did on my High Country bows. It has pockets galore and covers almost everything on your bow, except for the riser.

I have used the Primos slings for many hunts in CO, NM, WY, NZ and RSA without any problems. It is tough enough to handle anyting I threw at it.

For hiking in I strap mine to my pack . Sure mine has a rig set up for it but most packs can be made to work easy enough . I agree carrying it can be a pain . For me in CO it would be easy to damage your bow by not have it on the pack ..

Some very rough ground to cover and I need both hands some times.. Like when I tripping on a old blow down under the grass .

badlands Diablo dos is one of my go to day packs

I looked at them but it is just one more item , I have to take my pack so why not just strap it on and go

Check out the Sling A Ling. It’s made of paracord with a built in magnet. You use the magnet to hold it against your site housing and out of your way when you shoot. Therefore you never have to take it off.

I'm trying this one on the 3D range and it works fine.

The Hip Clip by Third Hand Archery holds the bow a little more secure. I just rigged it with a padded shoulder strap.
