    $80 stand and fill

So I was browsing Craigslist the other day and ran across a 55 gal drum feeder complete with timer and solar panel for $40. Decided to make it a stand an fill so for $40 worth of materials and a little welding, ended up with this... should work great

Looks good, but if you have hogs, I don't see the solar panel lasting very long.

Good point. I should mount it higher

Very nice. I may have to copy your design...any patents pending?

I like it, but only in my hog proof feeder pens.
As for as the solar panel, coons will mess with it unless you mount it high on the barrel. If so, you can run the wires up the inside of the barrel.

Looks good but unless you use a smaller(1"X1") wire, the coons will be able to reach the spinner. You should also cover the top corners with wire because the coons will reach in there to the spinner plate. They coons will eventually break that wire. Ask me how I know. If you go with the smaller 1"X1" wire it will also keep the birds and squirrels out.

if you have hogs better put some cattle panel around it where you have the wire. I have a few like that and hog will be playing kill the timer in no time.

Coons will find that mighty inviting.

I would look at a more heavy duty caging material
