All I said was I broke an arrow! Lol
I've been having a tough season so far. Up till this morning I had sat for over 60 hours and only seen one doe. I decided to hunt a Funnel we have nicknamed the "cemetery" because the is an old cemetery right in the middle on top of a small hill. I started seeing deer funnel thru there at the end of last season so I set a stand there a few weeks ago on the edge and waited for the right wind. I got in early this morning well before daylight. About 7:30 I saw a deer cruising along the edge of the hay field and he came right to the corner and stoped at about 40 yrds and was staring into the cemetery. He was a small 8 about 12" wide that I have several pics of. He eventually moved on without coming closer.

Hey I've missed the first 5 shots with my recurve. I have no room to say or even think anything.

About 8:00 I was reaching into my pack for some jerky when I heard something to my left. A spike had come across a field and into the cemetery for the opposite direction. He was about 35-40 yrds away just eating acorns. I watched him for about 15 minutes as he slowly got closer and closer. I was just praying the wind wouldn't shift. He finally stats walking and enters a good shooting lane but he ain't stopping. I instinctively start to draw and let out a bleat and he takes two more steps and stops. But now he is behind some brush and there is only a small opening about the size of a basketball.

I can see his vitals and the Next thing I know the arrow is gone and went exactly where I was as looking. He bolts off with about a foot of my arrow sticking out and then all is quite. I txt my wife and ask her to bring my pup that I've been training since he wa s 8 weeks old

About 15 yrds in I find the broad head and only a few specks of blood and now I'm worried! Another 20 yrds and I find the fletching and the middle section the next 50 yrds or so is very spotty and I'm really getting concerned. But I know the shot looked good and I just trust my dog and keep working the line. After that 50 yrds he starts to open up and blood prett good now. My pup is going crazy and I have to try to make him slow down and stay focused. All in all this little guy went at least 300 yards. I have now earthly idea how or why but he did. I showered him with praise when we finally reached the end. This is his first ever deer track and my first deer in two years .

How or why he didn't bleed much at first or how he went that far is a complete mystery! Crazy things just happen sometimes.
