    What weight bow?

Just got a new to me Palmer recurve for $300 Couldnt pass up looks brand new. It is 45#@28 I probably draw 27" with traditional good enough for deer and hogs? Will use a simple two bladed 125gr broadhead and carbon arrows. what says the pros and what poundage do you hunt with? thanks for any advice

If you draw 27'' it'll be a little less than 45, probably 42ish at your dl. But that's enough if you have a well tuned setup. Just get the right spined arrows, sharp 2 blade broadheads and you will be fine. What arrows are you planning to use? I like Gold Tip Traditionals with 5'' feathers. They hold up great. I'd start out with them a little longer than what you need and then trim them if you have to. I normally leave mine full length at 32'' but I draw a little over 29''.

You will be just fine with 500 spine arrows depending on arrows if you use gold traditional or other brand that is around 8.6 or 9 grains per inch it will put you in 420 grain total arrow weight with 125 head. That will put you in the 10 grains per pound according to your draw
I use that set up with 43 pound recurve and it works just fine , 125 gr 2 blade broad head 425 grain total arrow weight good balance of speed and weight for that bow weight . I have had pass throughs with mine.
