The shot was good in that the moose died like he did, but I don't think anyone would try to shoot one there (in the shoulder). I think the angle was bad for the shot but he was pretty close.

Moose have really thick hides and big bones.

I don't think it's different, I'm just saying I would have tried to wait a few seconds and shoot him behind the shoulder. Obviously the shot worked fine though.
