    High Tunnel for Farm build

As my wife an I expand and build our farm, one big project I'm taking on is the construction of a high tunnel. For those that don't know, it's basically a big green house where you plant directly into the ground. This allows for a longer growing season and better crops that aren't attacked by the bugs or disease as much - one benefit. It's 30'wide x 72' long and 12' high. I purchased it from Farmtek. The instructions are pretty easy - time intensive - but easy.

The first step is to square my corners. I don't have a transit but will be using the 3,4,5 rule to get the corners square.

Subscribed! We're tearing out our aquaponics garden over the winter and are trying to decide on a green house build or a high tunnel. I'll be using you as my research source.

Sorry for the delay. Right after I started I went to Slovenia for about a week and between work, kids wife I've been very busy. It's pretty much done. I have some smaller things to do but it's pretty much complete. And it works. It's about 15 degrees warmer inside that thing compared to outside. My wife and I are already planning on our winter greens/ broccoli and etc.

I ordered the economy high tunnel. What that means is that they provide two end panels but no opening mechanism or zipper door. The industrial strength velcro has been working well so far.

Nice. I'm looking at doing low tunnels this next year to get a jump on growing.

This was a big project for me. I'm happy but the door issue is still an issue.

Could you frame one in? Thats a lot of plants and work

Yea I'm starting with low tunnels. I can't get started without them until mid to late may. And even at that,we have serious hail chances until June. This year I was out in the garden when a hail storm came through and literally shredded everything. It sucked.
I am thinking the low houses will help, gonna use agribon+19 or 30. Waiting on the supplier to email me back.

Is this for personal use or do yall have a small farm?

Gotta get my soil sample sent off this week for testing
