Daughtrey Alligator hunt

Has anyone ever been on the alligator hunt at Daughtrey? We were drawn and just looking for some info.



general alligator question, This is a bait and hook hunt and wondering what everyone use for the line? Have the hooks ready but just want to make sure i go heavy enough on the line.

Maybe a heavy braid with all those stumps in there. One thing for sure is, they got some monsters in there.

Most sporting goods store should have braided lines for trotlines and such that are over 300 pound test. That's what I've used.

It got the right hook, line, and even a clothspin to hang it from your cane pole.

Think this is the same place I ordered hooks from. Didn't see the line kit when I orders.


I have some heavy braid and will probably just use that. I just notice that most people use the twisted tarred line instead of braid.

Never have. Bet it would be an adrenaline rush for sure though

I've alligator hunted JD murphree. Get that kit and you will be gtg.

Thanks.... I wish I knew what area of the lake I can hunt. I go to the lake every couple weeks catfishing and could get some scouting in.

I did a little pre-scouting. The biggest one I found was in a compartment that didn't get hunted. We didn't get to choose it was pre-selected for us. Turned out alright.
